- What are Positive Strokes?
Positive Stroke can be used in Sales when you receive an objection, question or inquiry.
- What you usually experience with Telco companies
With the usual big Telco call, a customer relays a problem, the service provider would usually tell you “I can't help you”, or puts their customers through another call to three or four more other people. It can get annoying.
- What happens when you do Positive Strokes
In consideration of the Telco situation, a Positive Stroke is the opposite of it. In Sales, instead of saying, “I can't help you”, you can say, “I would be more than happy to help you.” If your customers inquire about a certain product, you can say, “That's a great choice!” And, if they ask for the prices, you can say “I'm glad you asked me that!”, It sounds better now, doesn't it? - Two things it does: It enables you to respond instead of reacting
When you get an objection, for example, there can be a possible conflict. This method will help you smooth over the situation beforehand. It can help redirect the conversation (if you need to) or address the objection. - It makes you sound enthused
It is simple to sound enthused about work, but it is not easy to do. Practising Positive Strokes, helps you carry on that “enthusiasm” naturally.
